Attorney general's religion reference in e-mail prompts calls for apology

DAYTON — The Buckeye State Christian Alliance and the Buckeye State Republican Party are calling on the state's lawyer full full general to publicly apologise for an e-mail helium sent saying public unfavorable judgment of A staff member was worse than what Jesus Of Nazareth Of Nazareth suffered on Good Friday.The Dayton Daily News had reported that Lawyer General Marc Dann e-mailed his spokesman Lion Jennings on April 6 about an column in The (Youngstown) Apologist that resulted in six awful Web posters about Jennings."Jesus had it better on good friday," wrote Dann, who is Jewish.Chris Long, president of the Buckeye State Christian Alliance, asked Dann to apologize, calling the comment appalling, bigoted and insensitive."His comment comparing a bad fourth estate twenty-four hours to the crucifixion of Jesus is hideous and inappropriate from anyone, much less an elective official," Republican Party Deputy President Kevin DeWine said of Dann, who is a Democrat.In a missive sent to Long on Tuesday, Jennings said that as a Christian and recipient of the e-mail, helium did not happen it offensive."The comment is in no manner brooding of the lawyer general's doctrine or principles," Jennings wrote.
